Comment:
Acknowledged as The King of the Pulps for his strong cover designs, in this particular piece Baumhofer concentrates more on storytelling than in the typically iconic covers. Beyond his evolution as an artist, this piece underlines the fact that by the early 1950s, the pulps as a genre were fading fast even while using name illustrators increasingly for interior spreads.
