Date of publication and story title not readily known. Medium: Mixed media, primarily pastel and airbrush Size: 28.5 x 38” Signature: not signed. Condition: Tiny spots of wear at corners which would be covered by a frame, overall very good, not framed. Comment: As with much of Peak’s sports-related imagery, here it is the focus on the personalities of the players, rather than the action itself that sets this picture apart. Specifically it is the treatment of movement in the background that focuses our attention in ever-tightening circles on the Lakers and Celtics stars. The NBA Finals series between the Celtics and the Lakers are the stuff of legend and while the scene depicted here isn’t necessarily from a Finals series, if it is, then it’s probably from either 1968 or 1969.
