| Artist: Bernie Fuchs (b. 1932) Description: Golfer Paul Runyan teeing off. Publication information: Magazine cover illustration for Sports Illustrated, August 6th, 1962. Literature: Fuchs’ career was the subject of the winter 2005 issue of Illustration Magazine (#15). This particular painting was one of the ones reproduced in full and with a detail on the magazine’s cover. Medium: Acrylic on illustration board Size: 20.75 x 15.25” Signature: signed lower right. Condition: Art is very good, original mat and frame show their age. Comment: Fuchs' work has long been associated with Sports Illustrated. It is only one of the many publications that have made him one of the most sought after illustrators over the course of his great career. Price: $9,250. |
