Publication information: Story illustration for “My Wife’s Husband” by Brunella Gasperini, published in Ladies’ Home Journal, 1957.

Signature: signed upper left.

Condition: Light aging of the board, overall good. Not framed

Comment: Not only a good example of Burns’ magazine illustration work, but also a chance to see his creative process. Included are the initial 6 x 8.5” pencil on glassine conception as well as a full-color 9 x 17.5”gouache on board. Each varies markedly from the published version. Rounding out the group are two full tearsheets from The Journal, and one from a German language republication of the story.
