Description: Two men in secretive meeting in office. Caption: not readily known Publication information: Story illustration for “The Secret of the Cave” by Burnham Carter, appearing in the April 1st, 1950 issue of The Saturday Evening Post. Medium: Casein on gessoed panel Size: 12.5 x 11.75” Signature: not signed, fully identified on verso. Condition: Browning of gesso ground outside of image area, board somewhat unevenly cut, not framed. Comment: Exactly the type of picture for which Rabut was best known. I've ordered a copy of the magazine, which will be included with the purchase, but has not arrived as yet... hence the lack of a caption in this listing. Price: $600 |
