Rockwell, Norman

Price: $ 28,500.00

Description: Printer's apprentice takes a spill

Comment: Anyone who follows the Illustration market as a whole, can't help but be aware of what's happened to the prices of a very few top tier illustrators. Rockwell has certainly been the poster child for escalating prices. I remember well… though I needed to look up the date just now… talking to Walt Reed about how surprising it was when “Rosie the Riveter” surpassed $4,000,000 at auction in 2002. Of course comparing Rosie to Dickie is surely a case of apples and oranges… and yet… This is a well-drawn, nicely presented drawing for the client with whom the most popular of American illustrators is immediately associated… don't kick yourself in fifteen years.
