Held Jr, John

Main Back
Price: $3,800.00

Description: Farmer, horse and dog

Comment: Held is most easily associated with the Flappers and Sheiks of the Roaring 20's. The artist though was about much more than impossibly thin women and impeccably dressed men. While most associated with city life, Held had an affinity for rural subjects. With 1977 copyright notice on verso… which I think is in the hand of Walt Reed… Illustration House represented the Held estate for many years. An interesting and multi-faceted talent, he's worth delving into for all collectors who appreciate what it takes to be versatile. I thought I had a copy of either John Held, Jr.: Illustrator of the Jazz Age or The Most of John Held, Jr. on my bookshelves, but either don't or at least can't find either at the moment. I do have both on order now and so this description my be changed in the future.

Price: $3,800 (+ $70 domestic shipping)
